Our Doula
My name is Charlotte. I provide doula care in The Essex, Suffolk & Cambridgeshire region.
As a doula, I accompany women through their birth preparations and support them during labour, birth and beyond. I also support the new family in the first weeks after birth. I do not give medical advice, nor do I undertake examinations,nor perform any other clinical task. I cannot make decisions for you. I can only act as a spokesperson for you in the absence of your partner, if this has been clearly stated in your birth preference.
I will provide you with emotional support. If the need arises, I can help you communicate with your midwife and medical care givers, to ensure that you have all the information you need to make informed decisions during pregnancy, labour, bonding and early parenting. I can provide a continuum of care for you and your partner, make suggestions for planning and preparing your birth and bonding environment.
I am able to make suggestions for labour progress, help with relaxation, positioning and other comfort measures. I can safeguard your bonding period and am available for consultation after the baby is born. I do not come between you and your partner, but rather support you both.

An amazing doula!
"Charlotte was very resourceful throughout my pregnancy, keeping up to date with my appointments and providing information to help me both decide and advocate my birth preferences to the midwives and consultants. I felt comfortable contacting Charlotte for the smallest thing and every conversation with her ended with me feeling that I could achieve my vbac goal (which happily we did). My husband, who was unsure about having a doula at first comments that he felt like they were both a team working together to support me during labour. He felt comfortable knowing that if he was unsure about anything then Charlotte was there to support and guide him and that most importantly she wasn't there to take over as my birth partner but rather a support for us both if and when we needed. Charlotte is super friendly, will put you ease and will definitely support you whatever your birth preference. We cannot recommend her enough. Thank you for all your help and knowledge Charlotte! "

Exceptional doula
I hired Charlotte to be my doula from my third trimester onwards, she was amazing and very supportive the whole way through. Charlotte kept in constant contact with me and I was also able to message her when I needed to. Charlotte also kept me informed about different topics and information regarding my pregnancy, breastfeeding and health or medical practises for my baby. Charlotte was prompt and supportive during my labour from the moment my waters broke, she met myself and my partner at the hospital and stayed with us throughout. Charlotte was attentive and enforced my birth plan while in the hospital, she also encouraged me to stick to my birth plan when I was In doubt, which I'm very grateful for.
