Charlotte Our Doula
My name is Charlotte. I provide doula care and breastfeeding support in The Essex, Suffolk & Cambridgeshire region.
As a doula, I accompany women through their birth preparations and support them during labour, birth and beyond. I also support the new family in the first weeks after birth. I do not give medical advice, nor do I undertake examinations,nor perform any other clinical task. I cannot make decisions for you. I can only act as a spokesperson for you in the absence of your partner, if this has been clearly stated in your birth preference.
I will provide you with emotional support. If the need arises, I can help you communicate with your midwife and medical care givers, to ensure that you have all the information you need to make informed decisions during pregnancy, labour, bonding and early parenting. I can provide a continuum of care for you and your partner, make suggestions for planning and preparing your birth and bonding environment.
I am able to make suggestions for labour progress, help with relaxation, positioning and other comfort measures. I can safeguard your bonding period and am available for consultation after the baby is born. I do not come between you and your partner, but rather support you both.

Thank you for everything
From the moment I first met Charlotte for a coffee and a chat about my pregnancy, I felt completely relaxed & comfortable in her company. Charlotte was on hand throughout my pregnancy checking in and providing helpful resources in order for me to make informed decisions about my pregnancy and birthing choices. Fast forward to my actual birth… I had the most INCREDIBLE unmedicated, home birth in a pool with my partner and Charlotte right by my side. I felt empowered, in control and most importantly safe & respected throughout. I used all the tips and advice I had discussed with Charlotte and she was right there holding my hand when I needed it. I cannot put into words how grateful both myself and my partner are for everything she has done for us and for our little Harry. If you are reading this and considering Charlotte as your doula, it will be the one of the best decisions you make and you won’t regret a minute of it. We will be forever thankful to Charlotte.
